Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

Publishers

Publication Ethics exist to ensure high-quality scientific publications; control; public trust in scientific research; and that people receive credit for their ideas. Publisher has a major role to play in ensuring research integrity. Integrity Research Journals adhered strictly to the general standard and publication principles. Integrity Research Journals shall:

  • not influence the Reviewers, Editorial board or Editors decision to her personal gain.
  • not compromise the integrity of the journal process for her personal gain.

  • give authors fair and equal treatment without regional, political and religion bias.

  • be transparent in all aspect of her dealings.

Integrity Research Journals will compel all authors to adhere strictly to the ethical standards as prescribed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other related bodies.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is an act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author. Integrity Research Journals is committed to publishing only original material that has not been published or under review elsewhere.

Duplicate submission

Duplicate publication or multiple publications refers to publishing the same intellectual material more than once, by the author or publisher. Duplicate submission also includes the submission of the same/similar manuscript in different languages to different journals. Authors are not allowed to submit a manuscript to more than one journal at the same time, either within or outside Integrity Research Journals. Authors that used their previous work as the basis for a submitted manuscript are required to cite the previous work and indicate how their submitted manuscript offers novel contributions beyond those of the previous work. Manuscripts that have been published elsewhere or currently undergoing review elsewhere will not be processed or considered for publication in Integrity Research Journals. Therefore, authors are encouraged to state clearly in their cover letter that the submitted article is not under consideration for publication in another journal within or outside Integrity Research Journals.

Citation manipulation

Citation manipulation is when articles contain references to other works and articles that do not contribute to the content of the present article for the sole purpose of increasing citations or misrepresent the importance of the specific work or article. Citation manipulation is unethical and must be discouraged. Authors should use only citations that are relevant to their manuscripts and irrelevant citation should be avoided.

Falsification, Manipulation or Fabrication of Data

Falsification, Manipulation or Fabrication of Data is when the submitted manuscript(s) is/are found to have falsified experimental results or images. This is unethical and Integrity Research Journals will not encourage it.

Authors Contribution

All listed authors must meet the criteria for authorship (click here). Unnecessary inclusion of person who did not contribute significantly to the research is unethical.

Redundant Publications

A single research should not be split unnecessary into several articles. This is unethical and Integrity Research Journals does not encourage it.

Retractions

If there are errors that significantly affect the conclusions or there is evidence of misconduct, the JPHD Editors follow the COPE Retraction Guidelines to retract the publication. Editors consider retracting a publication if:

  • They have clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of major error (eg, miscalculation or experimental error), or as a result of fabrication (eg, of data) or falsification (eg, image manipulation).

  • It constitutes plagiarism.

  • The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper attribution to previous sources or disclosure to the editor, permission to republish, or justification (ie, cases of redundant publication).

  • It contains material or data without authorisation for use.

  • Copyright has been infringed or there is some other serious legal issue (eg, libel, privacy).

  • It reports unethical research.

  • It has been published solely on the basis of a compromised or manipulated peer review process.

Sanctions

Violations of any of the above mentioned policies in any journal within or outside Integrity Research Journals will attract severe penalties and sanctions. Such penalties and sanctions includes:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript if it has not been published.

  • Immediate rejection of other manuscript(s) submitted to Integrity Research Journals that is/are still under review.

  • Immediate withdrawer of the manuscript from the Journal website if the manuscript has been published in line with the COPE standard.

  • Immediate blacklisting of the author for a period of time.

In cases where the violations of the above policies are found to be particularly egregious, Integrity Research Journals shall impose additional sanctions beyond those described above.
