The rise of online learning in Nigeria has introduced new challenges in maintaining academic integrity in the digital age. This article explores a range of strategies aimed at cultivating ethical online learning environments and strengthening academic integrity within the Nigerian educational system. The prevalence of easily accessible internet resources, innovative remote assessment techniques, and the vulnerability to unauthorized collaborative activities has heightened concerns related to plagiarism and academic misconduct. To address these issues, this article recommends a comprehensive approach involving proactive initiatives to educate learners about the importance of academic probity. Additionally, it suggests integrating sophisticated plagiarism detection tools, establishing secure platforms for online assessments, fostering a culture of integrity through active student involvement, and facilitating collaboration among educators, institutions, and policy formulators. By tailoring these strategies to the unique cultural and technological context of Nigeria, the goal is to instill in online learners a sense of responsibility and ethical conduct. This, in turn, will enhance the credibility and enduring value of online education. The recommendation is to implement these strategies in a coordinated manner, acknowledging the dynamic nature of the digital landscape and the need for continuous adaptation to emerging challenges.
